Dearly Beloved,

Welcome the next “Iron Rule”, "Do not spare yourself in the work which you must accomplish."

I can’t speak for you all, but I can say with certainty, “The Chivalric Rules” of Inayat Kahn have changed my life and brought me out of darkness and despair. I am so grateful to you for being on this journey.

We are moving into another principle as the New Year begins. It is most fitting as a New Years resolution. A call for us all to stand in its resolve. Let us pray and mediate together over the next 40 days, concerning this rule in our quest to be Knights of Purity. This is the profession of all God's angels. All messengers of love.

"Do not spare yourself in the work which you must accomplish."

We all have work to go. Where are you on your journey? What comes up for you when you read,

"Do not spare yourself in the work which you must accomplish."

Don’t delay. You will do it less when you realize that delay does nothing more than bring unnecessary pain. When you see this your tolerance for enduring unnecessary pain will decrease and what was once acceptable errors for you will be unbearable and you will be motivated to change. Let us pray that we all reach this point sooner rather than later.

God, Grant is the serenity to accept the things we cannot change; the courage to change the things we can; and the Wisdom to know the difference.

Amen

There was a great man who went by the name of "Allan W Anderson", a great professor of religious studies. I discovered Allan in his meditations with J. Krishnamurti that broadcasted from San Diego 1974. In that series Allan discovers working with Jiddu how important it is not to delude yourself into arriving at a conclusion and speaking from a position of you supposedly realized, if only intellectually, when in actuality you're trying to go beyond what you have not yet begun. We have been living in mental abstractions instead of facing facts.

This is one of the ego's chief tools. Many false teachers live from it because they want to be somebody and hold on to the intellect. They want to be viewed as the learned man. A man who can take credit for his good deeds and saving others. A man who has assumed that he is the manager of his life, a separate doer, and who has his own thinking apparatus. And sometimes a man who believes he's transcended transcended all that, when in actuality he hasn't climbed to the top of the mountain. Not that one intellect is not useful tool, but we have to beyond it.

How silly this intellectual man is. It's a very deceptive position. I speak from experience. A mental position that both men discuss as the "sickness of becoming". When you live in the illusion that you can become a person over time who has mature righteous judgment, capable of doing "good" work. This passes for wisdom by the standard of the world. It is the opposite of our goal and doing the real work, which we cannot avoid. Work I am still doing with all of you, together as one.

This work isn't about becoming a better person who acquires the skills to pay the bills and makes yourself feel safe. That's the horizontal plane, where success means accumulation and getting, which is nothing more than a hamster wheel of false protection. Perhaps it seems a bit sexier, like a Ferris Wheel with you loved on. Don't fall for it and work to have to get off the merry-go-round, because there's nothing merry about it.

We have to be committed to transcending personhood by learning to let go of the whole process of judgment and a separate thinker who accumulates things, including knowledge. A person who believes he knows the outcome of anything that can make him happy. A conditioned mind that values categorizing, putting things into classifications, and seeking results from the world.

Don't we believe we can select and choose what we want from reality? Is there a difference between rejecting what is and suffering? What does it mean to accept? Are we talking about a acceptance that fas no opposite?  Is there a difference between the idea of choice and conflict? When do you feel conflicted? Does it happen when you trying to figure out where go to left or right on a horizontal plane? Always frantically trying to use all the knowledge that you have to make the "right" decision? Hasn't worked yet has it? I know all about it because I'm working to let go of my own false chooser.

The alternative to personhood is the vertical dimension.  A new life of giving where there are no bills to think about, only to see and pay. There's no reason to consider safety for yourself, because there is no self to save,  self to make happy, or worry about. No image to make comfortable with protective clothing, housing, or the provisions of a 401k. Doesn't that sound lovely? Jesus teaches its available to us. I've had many glimpses. I can testify to its reality. Let's try to live it again together by resting in Right-Mindedness. The co-creative uninvolved witness who thoughts come from God and not yourself.

This is the life of the miracle-doer spoke of in A Course in Miracles that we're after. A new mental position where we live fresh and clean from the present moment. We wash our hands free of the past with its belief in specialness and there is no sinner. This is the practice of "Holy Instant" where we are working to dismantle the self we made and have been living from.

Let's move deeper still into the Atonement of the Higher Universal Mind of God, let Him thinks for us, and work out all our perceived problems.  Let Him do all of our deeds for us and through us as part of Him, working His miracles as His miracle workers.

We want to be freed from the Anti-Christ, the "special" false personality that is the manifestation of the thought of "I" or "me", who  believes it is different from everything it perceives. An illusion of egoic perception that tells you every time you meet someone, you're meeting someone other than yourself. A body. A stranger who is not your Beloved and possesses a separate mind, his own "I" that is not "me".

Many traditions and teachings use different terms to describe theses state. Like the state that liberates us from the false thinking apparatus and the illusion it produces, the "Holy Instant". The state of Right-Mindedness, which is also our final resting place of the Kingdom of Heaven within.

In the mystical Sufi wisdom schools, there is a well-known contemplative maxim, "lā fāʿil illā Allāh.", which translates as ,"There is no doer except God". A mystical creed that arose from the disciples of the great Sufi Master, Ibn ʿArabī,  who said.

"Everything we call “our action” is God’s self-disclosure through us."

And

"All agency belongs to God alone, and the human being is the locus(location) where divine action appears."

Prior to his lifetime and one of the earliest Voices of Sufism, Al-Junayd of Baghdad, an influencer of the great master said,

“The servant has no action. His actions are God’s actions through him.”

And oh so masterfully said!!!

“The movements of men are by God, and through God, and to God."

This last statement is one that is never divorced from the great maxim, "There is no doer except God", and yet is continuously forgotten in the illusion of separation by beginners. It's just as important to work towards living a life where you give up "doership" or "life managing", as it is to contemplate, “that giving and receiving is the same”. If you want to receive some thing new let the Mind of Newness give through you by Thinking for you in your determination to stop being the chooser.  This is Right-Mindedness and bring awareness of true Miracle-Mindedness.

We must do the work to give Divine Agency back to God, to stop managing our own lives, letting Him work through us, and at the same time contemplate so deeply on this truth.

If you have time let's meditate on these quotes together,  shall we. Join your mind with the One.

"No one sees Him except Himself. No one reaches Him except Himself. No one knows Him except Himself. He knows Himself through Himself and He sees Himself by means of Himself. No one, but He sees Him. His veil is His oneness which nothing veils Him other than Him. - Ibn Arabi - Know your Self - An Explanation of the Oneness of Being

"When you meet anyone, remember it is a Holy Encounter. As you see him you will see yourself. As you treat Him you will treat yourself. As you think of him you will think of yourself. Never forget this, for in him you will find your Self or lose your Self." Jesus ACIM - The Holy Encounter.

At some point you realize that if the witness, the Lover, is to truly know the Beloved, then he must merge into Him. His perception must become so purified through his own stillness and therefore Right Thought, that duality collapses between the observer and observed . This can only be done through the Holy Thoughts of God. A holy thought system that is capable of producing a new perception of which Oneness looks upon it's Self  in the remembrance of God. You will see the Face of Christ, you remember the Son of God, you will remember God’s Light as your very Being.

To achieve this, one must let go managing one’s own life. Of all our planning trying to organize the present moment and move about on self-initiated thought. Our addiction to thinking from the false self is the same addiction to managing one’s life. Is that clear enough?

You won't be able to do it as long as you have a strong desire for worldly things. This is the triad of the ego, "Doer, Thinker, Worldly Seeker".  If you do not actively work to understand what it means to reach a dispassion for the five senses, believing the world offers satisfaction, you will stay trapped in the body. Your desire for the world, it's thrills will prevent your desire for Christ's Vision.

Don’t you wan to make Christ Vision your top priority? Well? "Do not spare yourself in the work which you must accomplish." I am right there will you! Let us look at a very motivating quote and make a choice.

“This is the only thing that you need do for vision, happiness, release from pain and the complete escape from sin, all to be given you. Say only this, but mean it with no reservations, for here the power of salvation lies:

I am responsible for what I see.

I choose the feelings I experience, and I decide upon the goal I would achieve. And everything that seems to happen to me I ask for, and receive as I have asked.

Deceive yourself no longer that you are helpless in the face of what is done to you. Acknowledge but that you have been mistaken, and all effects of your mistakes will disappear.

It is impossible the Son of God be merely driven by events outside of him. It is impossible that happenings that come to him were not his choice. His power of decision is the determiner of every situation in which he seems to find himself by chance or accident. No accident nor chance is possible within the universe as God created it, outside of which is nothing. Suffer, and you decided sin was your goal. Be happy, and you gave the power of decision to Him Who must decide for God for you.”(ACIM, T-21.II.3:1-7)

In the weeks to follow I plan to release some material on how this came about which includes how Inyata Kahn came to me in dream.  I want you to know that I’m genuinely excited and my heart has been singing for the first time in a long time.
